Phil Adamo

Background

Phil is SAI’s Director of Marketing and an Account Executive in the Outside Sales Division.

He spent years running marketing and advertising programs for local businesses and national companies before becoming a licensed insurance broker, a move that let him bring insurance knowledge to clients he already knew, and meet a good many new ones since. That commercial background is why he knows some industries better than most brokers do: restaurants, real estate, telecommunications, healthcare and investment banking.

Most of his work is one conversation at a time. He starts from how a business actually operates rather than from a class code, which is often where the mismatch between a policy and a real risk turns up. Where a premium is higher than it needs to be, the fix is usually a safety program or a change to a procedure rather than a cheaper carrier, and he will say so.

Outside work he has long been involved with organizations supporting people with developmental disabilities, including Life’s WORC and Family Residences (FREE). He grew up with a family member with learning challenges, and has a particular respect for the people who do that work every day. When he does stop, he sings with bands, and his taste runs from Sinatra to rock and roll.
